BSCI means” Business Social Compliance Initiative” .It is the most important for a compliance apparel industry. It is the global standard guidelines for American Market. The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is a leading supply chain management system that supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within the factories and farms in their global supply chains.
Basically, Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) implementing international labor standard protect against business & labor right. The United nation also guides the principles on Business & labor right.
In globally, Retailers source the product from suppliers over the world in different countries. But they have their own laws against business & human right which is not sufficient for labor right. They had created their own code of conduct & systems. For the reason different countries laws created so much complicate & diverse. In this situation globally BSCI had created to solve this discrimination through business & labor right. BSCI had created laws globally implement to smoothly operation for the labor rights & business. BSCI had developed code of conduct, tools, and activities to audit, train& share information to improve the labor conditions.
On the other hand, BSCI works to tackle these challenges by offering one common Code of Conduct and one single Implementation System that enable all companies sourcing all types of products from all geographies to collectively address the complex labor issues of their supply chain. - Audit preparation.
- on site Audit.
- Registration & entry in BSCI systems.
- Post Audit.
- Repeat Audit.
- Audit Preparation: Before the audit report Auditor made the self assessment & questionnaire for a proper report. Auditors made & investigate each production site for assessment. This auditor to take pictures from the production site, conduct confidential interviews with employees & save the results in a database and send the audit report to the BSCI members.
- On Site Report: Auditor cheek & investigate facilities as per BSCI guidelines & make a document for report. And also cheek any gap of fulfill requirement of the management standard system. The audit explains the objective and structure of the requirement. Auditors inspect the site, & interview management and other employees and review the documents.
- Registration and entry in the BSCI system
After audit factory get a written report with result from BSCI. The report mention image of site & record on BSCI database. As a result BSCI member can see & review the report easily.
- Post-audit (if needed)
Sometimes factory cannot meet as per standard requirement so they will give some correction for further. The effectiveness of your action will be verify & cheek in a new on site report. It will be show BSCI database
- Repeat audit
According to BSCI system is valid for 2 years. For repeat audit, you can extend database additional 2 years.
