What is the Acid Wash & Caustic Wash?

Acid Wash:

Acid wash is very popular wash in garments Industry. Now a days customers always want something special effect on clothing that the reason acid wash come out on fabric surface a vintage or old looking. The main purpose of acid wash becomes fading on the fabric surface. It is used pumic stone & the action of pumic stone become irregular fading on the heavy fabric like as heavy twill or denim. The pumice stone brushing on the fabric surface. The action of pumic stone becomes colorless & more effected heavy seam layer than single layer. Normally, it is more affected on seam area like as side seam, Cuff, Waistband, placket, hem. As a result, we can see irregular effect create on the surface area on the fabric.

Purpose of Acid Wash:

  1. It can create irregular fading on seam area.
  2. Increase smoothness of the fabric.
  3. Increase softness of fabric.
  4. More good hand felling.
  5. Improve rubbing fastness.

 

Caustic Wash

Caustic wash is the new concept in the market trend. According to market demand & fashion garments industry does different types of wash. Caustic wash is one of them. So, caustic wash is becoming more popular in the garment industry. Caustic wash is the pre-printing wash. It is the strong chemical with highly acidic feathers. It is the solution of caustic soda to remove impurities. Basically, it is doing as reactive dye, sulfur dye & direct dye & printed garment.

Purpose of Caustic Wash:

  • It can remove dirt, dust, oil, impurities which is come from stitching & back process.
  • Particular fading wash can be achieved.
  • It can improve the color fastness & rubbing fastness.
  • It can increase hairiness of garments.
  • It is increase the vintage or old looking appearance.
  • Partially size material is removed more than normal or pigment wash.
  • Good hand felling.
  • It can increase comfort of garments.
  • It can increase luster of fabric strength.
